It is so exciting to see how God continues to bring new relationships into our lives! Today we just said a temporary “Good- Bye” to a first time team from Next Level Church ( Fort Myers, FL) after another amazing week of ministry! The hard working group was led by youth pastor, Will Hutcherson who made a special trip down last fall with long-time friends Dave & Tammy McQuade, and Brooks & Susan Rollings, just to meet us and see the ministry opportunities first-hand.
Throughout these last 7 days we ministered in a variety of places. First, we traveled out to the small village town of El Molino which is located about two hours southeast of Guatemala City. There we empowered Pastor Luis and his wife Glenda with the dream that God gave him to begin a coffee nursery in order to raise the funds to build their much needed church building. Our team spent the day filling small plastic bags so that the new coffee bean sprouts can be transplanted for future sales. Along with some of the church members, we were able to fill over 7,000 bags with dirt. Their goal is to fill a TOTAL of 110,000 bags for the new plants! Aside from literally getting our hands dirty, the following day we hosted a community outreach with puppets, skits, songs, food and piñatas for the kids.
The team also enjoyed a variety of ministry outreaches including small children who live in extreme poverty, feeding street people, blessing an elderly home with donated furniture, and sharing a message of hope with the prostitutes who attend El Oasis.
Needless to say, it was an awesome week of ministry with our new friends from Next Level Church. Thank You Next Level for your valuable partnership with us in taking Gospel message to the lost and hurting, as well as encouraging fellow believers and leaders of Guatemala. This week, we truly shared the Easter message about love, forgiveness and hope…all because of Jesus Christ!
